When coronavirus hit New Zealand back in 2020, here at Two Hundred Doors we saw this as an opportunity to bring our tribe together, to network and share ideas to help everyone get through what was an undoubtedly tough time for our industry. As a result, the Business Success Series was born – a way for us to give back to our industry and empower the women we work so closely with.
It started with monthly webinars on relevant topics such as developing trusted partnerships with suppliers, company culture, the role of PR in their business and giving advice and solutions for pain points that business owners were facing through the pandemic.
On Monday 19th September we were so excited to be able to host our first ever in-person Business Success Series event at the Sofitel Auckland. Business owners and stockists came from all over the country to attend and be inspired by our line up of amazing guest speakers.
The day began with The Beauty Chef refreshments, while guests were able to take photos by our media wall, check out our expo display featuring Dermalogica Pro, Clear Start, Bio-Therapeutic and The Beauty Chef, and network with other business owners.
The first speaker of the day was Debbie Gregory, founder of Positivedirection who spoke about enhancing your leadership, giving feedback and effective communication. Next up was Matt Bellingham, director of Bellingham Wallace who gave useful insights into creating a profitable business and succession planning.
We then heard from Caroline Parker who shared the benefits of investing in education and fostering staff. The last in the lineup was Emma Hobson, director of education for Dermalogica Asia Pacific, who gave a brilliant presentation on future trends in the industry and how to navigate them to ensure business success.
It was an awesome day and so refreshing to be able to join together in person with our tribe after so long. We have received such great feedback from the day.
